Welcome....We were expecting you!
My name is Barb Skoff and I am the U.S. Director of the North Central Region of AGLOW International.
You will find out that AGLOW is a safe place for you. The AGLOW ministry embraces women of every race, every denomination and all economic backgrounds. This is a women's ministry where you will find friends and establish life-long relationships.
This is a place that, if you find yourself in need of prayer, you will receive it. This is a place to learn more about God and the Bible among women who are also seeking the same. This can be a place where you spread your wings and learn how to minister to other
women.
We have all sorts of meetings to enable you in this. We have Bible studies, support groups and prayer groups. We also have monthly community meetings that are called Lighthouse Meetings where we learn, worship together and laugh and grow in our faith.
To find out how to locate someone in this region, click on the state that you want from the left menu and you will find the area teams listed there. They will be glad to help you find an AGLOW fellowship near you.
WE ARE INDEED A NETWORK OF PRAYING & CARING WOMEN!
Subject: JANUARY ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER
Date: Jan 1, 2010
Dear Ladies,
Happy New Year!
Prehistorically speaking, I was looking over all the newsletters that I had sent out in the past 9 years, and thought I might quote a few lines, here and there.
From my very first letter to the North Central field as I took this position was from Jan. 23 in 2001.
I quote, "I want you to know that as your new US Director, that this is a position that I am honored to accept. My honest prayer is that I would bring glory to the Lord as your US Director. If you would feel led to pray for me, that would be something I would love for you to do."
From The Golden Scepter in August, 2003. "In the Water Ankle deep. I am wading through my 3rd year as your US Director in this North Central region. Someone on the US Board told me at my very first board meeting, that it would take a good two years to get my feet wet. With joy, I am now ankle deep. There have been wonderful times when I feel I can wade out even deeper with no fear at all and then there have been times when I thought that the water was full of creeping things and I didn't want to wade at all. But I kept wading."
From The Golden Scepter in 2005, "Here we are in Aglow desiring for God to move in a powerful way, in our lighthouses, bible studies, support groups, and retreats. Make sure there is freshness in everything that you are going to be happening this season. Seek God's anointing as you consider and do various things..................Let's make sure we are really out-of-the-box and on the right trail as we pray and make decisions that affect all of our women."
Enough of quoting old newsletters!
How are things going in your areas? How are things going in your lighthouses? Are you setting up retreats? The real question is, "WHAT MAKES YOUR BABY LEAP?" Whatever that is, whatever is your passion is exactly where the Lord wants to target you.
Here is a quote from the MESSAGE BIBLE and Psalm 119: 25-32
I'm feeling terrible—I couldn't feel worse!
Get me on my feet again. You promised, remember?
When I told my story, you responded;
train me well in your deep wisdom.
Help me understand these things inside and out
so I can ponder your miracle-wonders.
My sad life's dilapidated, a falling-down barn;
build me up again by your Word.
Barricade the road that goes Nowhere;
grace me with your clear revelation.
I choose the true road to Somewhere,
I post your road signs at every curve and corner.
I grasp and cling to whatever you tell me;
God, don't let me down!
I'll run the course you lay out for me
if you'll just show me how.
First we find out "what makes our baby leap" and then we want to run the course that God has laid out for us. Sometimes we miss the obvious. Everyone knows that even a GPS system can get us lost sometimes - or off track! The psalmist says, "I POST YOUR ROAD SIGNS AT EVERY CURVE AND CORNER." What are the road signs saying about Aglow in your area and lighthouse? It isn't always what a speaker tells us at conference (even when it is really good) or it isn't always what our retreat speaker said (even though good), but it is what the Lord is speaking to us and to the rest of our team. Now that is good!
I am here for you.
Love, Barb
